Utilities

We have worked for over 30 years as consulting engineers to the Utilities industry. We have been involved in historical investigations, site characterizations, risk assessments, feasibility studies and remedial designs for hundreds of former manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites, and have been selected on numerous occasions to evaluate and design new and innovative ways to deal with MGP contaminants and wastes of concern to the electric/gas utilities industry, including ambient air, soil, and soil gas screening.

We have provided geotechnical services and foundations design for a host of utility facilities and structures, including more than 20 nuclear power plants. We have extensive experience with hydroelectric power plants, dams and related fish passage facilities, including design, engineering, cost estimating, scheduling, specification and contract preparation, contract negotiations, project management and construction oversight roles. As well, GEI’s Chadwick Ecological Division offers a full service, national ecological consulting team with experience in the design, implementation, and management of aquatic life studies including environmental impact assessments, endangered species assessments, site specific water quality criteria setting, minimum stream flow evaluations and more.

GEI Consultants Online provides information on more than one hundred of our services, many of which may be relevant to your interests. We encourage you to review our Services section and related pages, including video introductions by spokespersons for our geotechnical, environmental, water resources and ecological practice areas.
