Environmental Impact Assessment

As part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), any activities that involve a “federal action” are required to be reviewed through an environmental impact assessment. This assesses the potential impacts to all aspects of the environment, including aquatic life, wildlife, plants, water quality, sediment input, and air quality, as well as impacts on people. The impact on people is measured through an assessment of socio-economic changes, road construction, powerline placement, etc. Impact assessment also is conducted as part of other regulated studies associated with historic clean-up sites through Superfund and other regulations.

GEI offers a broad array of scientific, testing, engineering, and consulting services related to such environmental impact assessment. Services are offered as both stand-alone and integrated, based on client and project needs.
