Regional or statewide biological criteria may not always be appropriate for specific study sites due to unique physical or natural chemical conditions. In these cases, it may be more appropriate to revise those statewide databases to develop site-specific biological criteria. In this way, biological conditions in a stream near a client’s activities would be compared to more appropriate site-specific criteria.

GEI has completed site-specific studies that have led to revisions in site-specific requirements, enabling our client to avoid costly site modifications that would have had minimal or no actual beneficial effect on site biology.
