Pre-Bid Assistance & Value Engineering

The difference between a contractor winning or losing a bid or negotiated contract often lies in the development of creative approaches to construction. GEI has a long history of working closely with leading contractors to develop and engineer such creative approaches during both the bidding and construction phases of projects. As part of the contractor's team, we provide the following services:

• Evaluate the design requirements, subsurface conditions, and the contractor's available and preferred methods of construction including materials and equipment
• Perform engineering analyses to develop and evaluate alternative construction methods and assist in selecting an economical, low risk approach
• Prepare design sketches and notes in support of the contractor's take-off and bidding,
• Once a project is won, prepare engineering design documents, including stamped drawings and reports, to support contractor-proposed alternatives in the owner's review and approval process
• Provide engineering support for formal and informal value engineering processes
