GEI Consultants Selected by The Community Builders, Inc. for IDIQ Contract

Professional environmental services intended to rehabilitate blighted areas

BOSTON, Mass.—January 7, 2011—GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced today it has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for professional environmental services by The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB).

The IDIQ contract covers environmental services such as environmental assessments and investigations in connection with the redevelopment of property for multifamily housing development or rehabilitation activities. These activities are funded in whole or in part through a grant from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The Community Builders, Inc. is one of the largest and most accomplished non-profit development corporations in the United States. TCB is carrying out a multi-state, multifamily neighborhood stabilization initiative in areas experiencing abandonment and foreclosure. GEI has been selected to perform environmental activities in the Northeast Region, which includes Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York; as well as the Mid-Atlantic Region, which includes Washington D.C., Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
