GEI Consultants Elects Three New Vice Presidents

BOSTON, Mass. — April 22, 2011—GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced that its board of directors has elected three new vice presidents.

“I am very pleased to recognize these three talented individuals who have demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to the growth of our firm,” said Francis D. Leathers, P.E., president of GEI Consultants. “It is through this leadership and exceptional technical experience that they are able to contribute to the mission of our firm which is to provide high quality work and superior client service.”

Errol S. Kitt, branch manager and environmental practice leader.  An environmental engineer with 30 years of experience, Mr. Kitt focuses his efforts at GEI on managing and directing environmental assessment, investigation and remediation programs for clients on Long Island and in the Metro-New York area.  These programs include projects involving remedial investigations and feasibility studies, groundwater and hydrogeologic investigations, environmental site assessments for real estate transactions, regulatory compliance and remedial measures.  These projects have been conducted at Superfund, hazardous waste, municipal landfill and manufactured gas plant sites, as well as industrial, commercial, research and institutional facilities in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.  Mr. Kitt received his bachelor’s degree in environmental technology/engineering from Cornell University and his master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York.  He is located in GEI’s Huntington Station, Long Island office.

Timothy J. Olean, branch manager and construction services manager. With over 21 years of practice in remediation, construction and operations, Mr. Olean has extensive experience in program construction management and project management, subcontractor management and cost control for large-scale remediation construction projects. He is also well versed in remedial alternative development, review and selection, detailed cost estimating, and project design and constructability review, related to remediation services. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the University of Vermont and is located in GEI’s Providence, Rhode Island office.

Robert W. Gensemer, PhD, senior ecological practice leader and eco-toxicologist. Dr. Gensemer manages projects involving the development of site-specific water quality standards, use-classification modifications, the development of new water criteria, and conducts and reviews terrestrial and aquatic ecological risk assessments. In addition to water quality standards and risk work, Dr. Gensemer is responsible for collaborating with GEI’s in-house aquatic biology laboratory in matters related to whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing, specialty toxicity testing, and low-level nutrient chemistry. Dr. Gensemer received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University with a major in botany and a minor in chemistry, and a doctorate in biological sciences and limnology from the University of Michigan. He serves clients nationwide and works from both the GEI Colorado and Oregon office locations.
