GEI Consultants Selected by DWR to Provide Project Management Training

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — May 11, 2011 — GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced today it has been selected by the State of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) to provide on-demand/as-needed project management support to DWR’s Project Services Office (PSO) to initiate portfolio, program and project management initiatives.

DWR currently has an extensive management training program in place and GEI will assist the agency with its implementation. Under this contract, GEI will be responsible for overall management of the scope of services and will be the primary provider of services related to engineering project management. GEI’s project partner, North Highland, a global management, business and technology consulting firm, has extensive experience deploying the principles of the Project Management Institute’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge to an array of clients and organizations.  Together with DWR, the team will provide technical expertise for the multi-disciplinary project management support services required by the contract.

The DWR PSO, which is the steward for project management training and development, selected the GEI team to increase its knowledge base of internal project manager resources and improve its ability to measure project management effectiveness.
