Phase I Environmental Assessment

We help owners, developers, lenders, chief elected officials, tax assessors, economic development professionals and municipal leaders understand the technical, legal an accounting issues, quantify and manage the likely or potential costs and risks associated with environmental and subsurface site conditions. Our goal is to keep environmental contamination issues off the construction project’s critical path. GEI considers environmental assessment to be an integral part of the development process—not an interference. We have completed thousands of environmental site assessments for the transfer of ownership, closure, and reuse of properties ranging from urban brownfields sites to Superfund sites.

GEI specializes in environmental assessment, remediation, geotechnical design, and construction support services in urban settings, and is particularly qualified to assist developers, municipalities and industry in the rehabilitation of “brownfields” sites. Our approach is to tailor innovative technologies for characterization and remediation to the specific redevelopment and regulatory goals for each site. GEI has completed thousands of site assessments, including but not limited to historic mill complexes, agricultural tracts, commercial office development, utility/industrial facilities, Superfund and other sites.
