GEI helps plan, estimate, and schedule the underground elements of buildings and infrastructure construction, a part of the project that is often “fast-tracked” to get construction started and out of the ground. We have completed thousands of projects for new buildings and facilities, additions and renovations, helping companies manage the geotechnical risks and uncertainties of underground construction. For instance, GEI has worked for the Gillette division of Proctor & Gamble as an integral part of its team for 35 years, helping Gillette develop and grow its massive South Boston Manufacturing Center by providing critical geotechnical engineering consulting services.

As contaminated soil and groundwater emerged as a critical issue, we extended our geotechnical practice to include environmental engineering and site remediation based on our comprehensive knowledge of soil behavior. GEI’s experience includes negotiating scopes of work and implementing investigation and design on many National Priority List (NPL) Superfund sites, as well as RCRA Corrective Action sites. We have successfully met the stringent standards of the EPA for protocols and quality control on these projects. GEI data collected and conclusions drawn have long stood the test of intense scrutiny.
