BOSTON, Mass. – GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental and water resources engineering firms, announced today the promotion of Patrick King, P.E. to New England Environmental Division Manager. Reporting to Senior Vice President and Regional Manager Tom Kahl, P.E., King will be responsible for coordinating business development strategies and developing, organizing and managing 24 employees. King will continue to work closely with clients on project management. Since joining the company in 1993, King has developed subsurface investigations, evaluated remediation alternatives, implemented response actions, and managed contamination during construction on behalf of GEI clients. Recently, King directed environmental and geotechnical services for the redevelopment of a former candy factory at One First Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Covering nearly one city block, Leggat McCall Properties transformed the former factory into mixed-use space, including nearly 300 luxury residential condominiums, restaurants and courtyard space, and underground parking. A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Licensed Site Professional Association (LSPA), King holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tufts University.
