June 24, 2009 —
Water storage and overrun policies were among several key issues discussed during a workshop Tuesday on the status of forming an interim water resource plan for the Imperial Irrigation District. Nothing was decided as consultant Matt Zidar told IID board members about the need to identify all possible water sources in the Imperial Valley, during an hour-long PowerPoint presentation. Zidar, of Sacramento-based GEI Consultants, went over what the district can do to maximize its water sources for the anticipated Integrated Regional Water Management Plan. A final draft of the plan is expected in August for IID board members to vote on and would be “the roadmap for all categories of water users” in the Imperial Valley, said IID spokesman Kevin Kelley. |
