Site Assessment, Remediation, and Negotiation Support for Property Transfer

GEI performed Phase I, II, and III site assessments and investigations at this former industrial site. Areas of environmental concern identified included underground storage tanks (USTs) containing hazardous materials/petroleum products, a drum storage area, and an off-site gas station. Cleanup requirements were developed and cost estimates provided.

Work performed included:

  • Assisted client with successful negotiation payment of site cleanup by former site owner and industrial tenant
  • Assisted client and provided technical support with obtaining cleanup funds from Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CTDEP) leaking UST trust fund for on-site impacted soil contamination
  • Provided remediation oversight, cleanup documentation, and Licensed Environmental Protection (LEP) services regarding voluntary cleanup action
  • Coordinated with Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) regarding CERCLIS site delisting activities
  • Assisted client communication of site environmental status to potential buyers
