Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation - Yankee Nuclear Power Station

GEI developed a procedure for the construction of a test fill at the Yankee Nuclear Power Station in Rowe, Massachusetts, to evaluate whether the engineered fill proposed for the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) met the licensing requirements. GEI performed plate load tests, field density tests, and laboratory index tests on the test fill. Based on the results of the test fill, the proposed engineered fill met the NAC-MPC licensing requirements for density and modulus of subgrade reaction.
