Risk Management Plans, Multiple Facilities

GEI was selected by Kraft Foods North America, Inc. (KFNA) to prepare Risk Management Plans (RMPs) for 15 KFNA and Nabisco plants located across the United States.

We provided the engineering services necessary to complete the RMPs. Our project team conducted site visits at each plant. For each site we visited, we developed a worst case scenario for a hazardous release, as well as several alternative scenarios. We provided preliminary completion of RMP*Submit, evaluation of off-site receptors, review of emergency response plans, and review of any existing RMP documentation.

We prepared RMPs for each site, as well as supporting documentation. We calculated the distance to endpoint for the worst case and alternative release scenarios by using RMP*Comp. We also prepared an electronic copy of the EPA’s required RMP*Submit as specified by 40CFR68.

Evaluated processes included ammonia and propane transfer and storage at the facilities. KFNA requested that RMPs for propane be completed to comply with the “General Duty Clause” of 40CFR68.

All plans were submitted within KFNA’s schedule and budget requirements.
