Creative and responsible use of the resources of our natural environment is no longer an option. Proper management of these resources is key to assuring healthy and sustainable communities for subsequent generations.

Often, how and where development occurs in large part determines the relative affects that human activities will have on the environment. Factors such as energy and water demand, generation of wastes, and affects on ecosystems and animal habitats should be taken into consideration through a sustainable approach to resource management.
