tunnel construction

Tunnels

GEI’s tunneling experience ranges from cut and cover and soft ground tunnels in the urban environment for utility and transportation projects to deep hard rock tunnels for water storage and conveyance. In addition to traditional tunneling techniques, our work includes selection and design of pipe jacking, TBM, micro-tunneling, and horizontal directional drilling for installation of pipelines beneath highways, bridges, buildings railroads, rivers and wetlands and through congested or contaminated areas. GEI has extensive experience in the site investigation, design, construction observation, instrumentation of tunnels, CSOs, trench-less, micro-tunneling, pipe jacking and other underground construction activities.
