Ben Lavon, P.E., QEWI

Vice President

Benjamin Lavon, previous branch manager of GEI’s New York City office, has 40 years of diversified engineering experience which includes structural design of reinforced concrete, precast concrete, structural steel, timber and glu-lam construction and various foundation systems including heavy construction foundation, underpinning, piles and caissons. His experience includes design of commercial, health care, institutional, residential buildings and industrial facilities, high-rise apartment and office buildings and various other structures.

Benjamin’s experience includes structural failure investigation and reports, and seismic evaluations of structures. He has provided forensic engineering services, investigated many structural failures, fire damage and corrosion related deficiencies of structures. He is a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector and has provided expert testimony and engineering support for legal proceedings related to non-performance and construction issues.

Prior to the merger with GEI, in 2013, Benjamin was the president of FKC, a well known NYC structural engineering firm.

Benjamin has a M.S. in Civil Engineering from New York University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Technion, Israel. He has authored many papers and made professional presentations at various professional forums.
