Richard Tobin, P.E.

Senior Project Manager

Richard Tobin is a licensed Professional Engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering. He has managed numerous projects relating to transportation structures, buildings, dams, earth slopes, embankments and retaining structures. He has been GEI’s project manager on four Section Design Contracts for the Central Artery/Tunnel (CA/T) project, the Route 79/I-195 Interchange design-build project in Fall River, the Allston Interchange project, and over 50 other bridge projects. Mr. Tobin has also performed engineering analyses and supervised preparation of design packages for several large solid waste disposal facilities and for several slope remediation projects. His involvement on these varied projects has included planning and conducting subsurface explorations and field testing, developing soil properties and conducting engineering analyses, developing geotechnical design and construction recommendations, preparing earthwork and retaining structure designs, specifications and construction drawings, estimating construction costs, monitoring construction, and preparing geotechnical geotechnical sections of design-build Requests for Proposals.
