Alissa L. Turney

Senior Professional

Alissa Turney is a senior professional in GEI’s Madison, WI office. Alissa is an experienced hydraulic engineer with a diverse background in riverine and coastal hydraulic analysis, hydraulic structure design and risk assessment.

She has performed hydrologic and hydraulic modeling studies for municipalities, state agencies, industry and federal organizations. Her work supports floodplain mapping, flood mitigation studies, alluvial fan studies and structure design.

Alissa has experience in all aspects of levee risk assessments from hazard characterization and structure failure analysis to flood inundation mapping and consequence estimation. She supports risk-based decision making through analysis of precipitation, streamflow, post-fire debris flow, levee failure, storm surge, wave loading and run-up, flooding, and erosion.’

Ms. Turney is experienced in HEC-RAS, FLO-2D, ACES, WHAFIS, HEC-FDA, HEC-FIA, HEC-SSP, HEC-HMS,  BEACH-Fx, RMC-RFA, RMC-Bestfit, QGIS and ArcGIS

Alissa has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Wisconsin, and an M. Eng. in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
