Chris Webster, P.E., F. ASCE
Geotechnical Practice LeaderChris Webster manages GEI’s Charlottesville, Virginia office and is a Geotechnical Practice Leader with the firm. He is licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia and has more than 30 years’ experience in geotechnical and water resource engineering including forensic, litigation and insurance support, karst, sustainability, and construction monitoring projects.
His geotechnical projects include earthen and concrete dams, multi-story buildings, water and wastewater treatment plants, government facilities, industrial facilities, landfills, solar facilities, pipelines, bridges, roadways, tunnels, rail, National Parks, earth retaining systems, and rock and soil slopes. His expertise includes karst evaluations, shallow and deep foundation systems, soil improvement techniques, in situ testing, porous pavements, geosynthetics, instrumentation, condition surveys. Chris’ environmental work includes environmental investigations and landfills. He has worked on projects domestically and internationally for private, state, and federal clients.
Chris has served as adjunct instructor at the University of Virginia’s Schools of Engineering and Architecture and is registered as a Thomson Reuters expert witness. He is an elected Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and past President of the Virginia Section of ASCE.
Chris holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a BS. in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia.
