Meet Gei's

Christopher R. Pray, P.E.

Project Manager

Chris provides structural, civil, and remediation engineering design services.  His responsibilities at GEI include engineering analysis and design, performing cost studies, and writing design reports, work plans, and technical specifications.  Given his education background, Chris often serves as the lynchpin for multi-disciplinary design projects that involve the integration of structural, geotechnical, and environmental aspects.  His wide range of experience includes the design and analysis of complex soil/structure interaction elements for waterfront structures, buildings, and other infrastructure related projects, supporting contractors through the design of temporary works and project phasing/execution, and the design and management of multifaceted remediation programs.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Marine Biology from the United States Coast Guard Academy, a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from Tufts University, and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Norwich University.  He served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Coast Guard prior to joining GEI.

“I had the pleasure of working with GEI and specifically Chris Pray on our Port Monmouth, N.J. Army Corp project. GEI did the design for us on a major Value Engineering initiative on the project that saved the Army Corp, and us, a substantial amount of time and money. We also had GEI design our large cofferdam for the project which Chris spearheaded. The design was a substantial improvement over the owner suggested design. We found GEI, and most specifically Chris, to be responsive, timely, and open minded when discussing ideas, as well as practical. Extremely important attributes for us as a contractor when working with a design firm”
