Jennifer Shelton, PE

Senior Consultant

Jennifer Shelton is a senior consultant in GEI’s Madison, WI office. She is a licensed professional engineer with extensive project management and technical experience in environmental and civil engineering. Jennifer’s primary areas of focus include environmental compliance and site remediation for oil and gas clients and the manufacturing sector.

Jennifer has extensive experience in the preparation of environmental compliance plans such as spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) plans; facility response plans; stormwater pollution prevention plans; erosion control plans, hazardous waste contingency plans, storage tank manuals; and integrated contingency plans (one-plans).  Jennifer has managed several SPCC programs for expansive portfolios of oil and gas pipeline facilities, including the revamping of a client’s entire SPCC program to facilitate regulatory compliance.

Jennifer has designed various in situ and ex situ remediation systems for sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents. Innovative groundwater technologies that she has implemented include underground injection of highly oxygenated water with nutrient amendments and density-driven convection. She has also designed remedial actions involving multi-phase extraction, groundwater recovery and treatment, air sparging, soil vapor extraction, phytoremediation, bioventing, free product recovery, and various engineered barriers.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Marquette University.
