Katie Walling

Katie is a Senior Coastal Engineer based in GEI’s Portland, Maine, office. She has a well-rounded, diverse background in coastal engineering. Katie has built her experience by managing and executing tasks on projects across the U.S. and internationally, serving clients from local communities to major energy developers.

Her coastal and waterfront project background includes coastal conditions analyses, storm damage assessments, shoreline stabilization, flood protection, nature-based solutions, and living shorelines. Katie is also experienced in the offshore wind and renewable energy industry, where she specializes in submarine cable routing, installation, and protection.

Katie received her Master of Engineering in Ocean Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology.
