Kyle Olcott

FERC Regulatory Specialist

Kyle is a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) specialist with nearly 15 years of experience that includes a decade working for federal and state government agencies. He has worked on a range of matters related to hydropower and dam regulation, including FERC licensing, state water quality certifications and permits, and fishway prescriptions.

Kyle’s broad expertise includes human dimensions of natural resources, outdoor recreation planning, land use, aesthetics, fish passage, and water quality. This range of expertise gives him the ability to see the “big picture” and to provide holistic guidance on complex regulatory matters. Kyle also has a great deal of experience drafting official documents with a focus on defensibility. Most importantly, he has a proven track record of effective collaboration with a range of interested parties to creatively solve contentious issues.

Kyle holds a Master of Science in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resources from West Virginia University.
