Owen J. Woods
Water Resources/Civil EngineerOwen is a Water Resources Staff Engineer in GEI’s Lansing, Michigan, office with experience supporting water resources, dam, and stream restoration projects across Michigan and the Midwest. Owen brings a strong background in field engineering and construction observation, having worked on culvert replacements, dam rehabilitations, and dam removals to ensure projects are built in accordance with plans and specifications.
Owen has contributed to county drain and flood management efforts through geomorphic data collection, hydraulic analysis, and floodplain remediation work. His technical skillset includes Civil 3D and HEC-RAS modeling, development of plan sets, and preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses. He has also supported regulatory coordination efforts, including discussions with state specific regulatory agencies and dam risk assessments. Owen’s hands-on field experience and collaborative approach allow him to effectively support multidisciplinary water resources projects from planning through construction.
Owen received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan State University in 2024.
