Patrick “PJ” Mion

Senior Project Manager

PJ is an engineering geologist with more than 15 years of experience specializing in risk analysis and site characterization for high-hazard dams, levees, and coastal protection projects. His technical expertise includes event tree and failure mode analysis, subsurface investigations, data visualization and geospatial modeling, and analysis of seepage and internal erosion. He has facilitated risk assessments for a number of large federal dams – leading multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with risk standards and best practices – and has provided expert analysis for more than two dozen dam and levee safety risk assessments, both quantitative and semi-quantitative.

PJ has served as geology lead for risk-informed design work, developing recommendations to mitigate flood risk during and after construction of civil works infrastructure. He is committed to advancing flood risk management practice by promoting clear risk communication, stakeholder engagement, and delivering scalable technical analyses with a strong focus on public safety.
