GEI Chosen to Receive the 2020 Volunteer Stream Monitoring Award

May 28, 2020

GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading technical consulting services firms, was recently chosen to receive the 2020 Volunteer Stream Monitoring Award in the Business Category from Water Action Volunteers (WAV).

GEI’s Green Bay staff have supported the Southern Brown Conservation Club (SBCC), a chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, with monitoring six local streams in Brown County, Door County, and Manitowoc County for several years. Various staff members have donated their time to help collect water samples, summarize the field forms, and prepare the samples for shipping. Even a GEI retiree, Fred Tepaske, has maintained contact with GEI staff and continues to help monitor and sample Sugar Creek in Door County, Wisconsin. GEI’s Green Bay staff have also attended stream water training events held by WAV and SBCC. Learn more on how to get involved with stream monitoring in your area here.
