GEI’s Cameron Davis & Peter Ventin Help Canadian and U.S. Mayors Prime Themselves for Green Infrastructure

Event Date: June 13-15, 2018

GEI Vice Presidents Cameron Davis and Peter Ventin are presenting on Thursday, June 14, to dozens of mayors and municipal officials from the U.S. and Canada at the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative annual meeting in Ajax, east of Toronto.

“The trends are already clear,” said GEI’s Davis. “Communities need to be ready for increased flooding and other extreme weather-related impacts, but it’s not as intimidating as you’d think. There’s a process that can help cities be ready, and even save money.”

The focus of the presentation is on “green infrastructure,” or using the built environment to help reduce costs and wear-and-tear on traditional infrastructure to help with flooding, water quality, and even social imperatives, like jobs and job training.
