GEI’s Cameron Davis Spotlighted with Dozens of State and Provincial Legislators

Event Date: September 23, 2017

On Saturday, September 23, GEI Vice President Cameron Davis spoke to some 60 state and provincial legislators, and other stakeholders in Toronto.

The presentation highlighted federal initiatives that legislators should know about, including anticipating policy changes that Congress is likely to consider in the coming year.

Davis, who is completing a Great Lakes and Upper Midwest Business Plan for GEI, including government affairs work to help advance client projects, outlined several key U.S. federal initiatives to watch, such as:

  • How disaster relief, including changes to the National Flood Insurance Program in the wake of recent hurricanes, is likely to drive ecosystem protection and restoration in the coming years;
  • Farm Bill conservation programs and timing for reauthorization;
  • Great Lakes Restoration Initiative funding through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and companion departments.
