GEI is pleased to announce Ron Palmieri, P.E., has been selected by the board of directors to assume the role of president and chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2018. Ron will be the third (non-founder) president in GEI’s 48-year history.

New Leadership Creating New Opportunities

In 2013, he was named to his current position as chief operating officer.  As COO, Ron played an instrumental role in leading the firm to successive years of growth and profitability, culminating with the firm reaching its highest annual revenue and number of employees in its history.

Ron earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA from the Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School at DePaul University. Ron has more than 30 years of consulting and client management experience in geotechnical and pavement engineering and construction services, as well as operational leadership and management, strategic planning, and risk management.

“I am excited to step into my new role as GEI’s president” says Ron Palmieri. “GEI is a special place to work. Along with our dedicated and talented staff, great clients and exciting projects, I look forward to leading GEI to continued growth and success.”

We also look forward to his continued participation in leading our efforts to grow our Western Region.”

In addition to ensuring a smooth transition, Ray will continue to serve the company as a senior consultant in GEI’s West Region, where he will focus on client development and succession planning. “I would like to thank all of those I have worked with throughout my role as president at GEI, I was honored to lead the firm over the past five years.
