GEI Names One New Senior Vice President and Two New Vice Presidents

GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading technical consulting services firms, is pleased to announce Robert Acker has been named a Senior Vice President and Christopher Smith and Dale Lane have been named Vice Presidents at the firm.

Robert Acker, P.E., LEED AP, has more than 30 years of technical expertise and knowledge to maximize the value in the foundation design and construction of any project. He has worked on over 50 high-rise construction projects including several of the tallest structures in Chicago. Working closely with owners, designers and general contractors he uses his technical skills in site development planning, construction and construction quality assurance to provide on-site solutions. His experience also includes contract negotiations, project management, construction issue resolution, and expert witness testimony.

Christopher Smith, P.E., has more than 23 years of water resources consulting experience in California in both the public and private sectors. He has extensive flood management and water resources experience, including managing the efforts to modernize California’s response to flood emergencies, reducing flood risk, and the response to drought emergencies. He  has expertise in flood management, quality assurance and quality control, drought management, water resources planning and, management, groundwater analysis and groundwater remediation, and he has managed and assisted in developing water supply and demand studies, basin management plans, water rights investigations, groundwater yield analyses and impact analyses to meet CEQA and NEPA requirements.

Dale Lane, P.E., has over 25 years of experience as an environmental engineer. He has managed various projects involving landfills, soil and groundwater contamination, storm water, erosion control, industrial compliance and site restoration for both private and government clients. Dale manages multiple projects for the permitting and construction of industrial monofills and municipal solid waste landfills. He is also involved with research and development of bioreactor landfills to promote treatment and stabilization of refuse, and assessment of landfill liners and geosynthetics for interface shear strength and stability.
