GEI’s Ryan D. Alward, P.G., C.Hg., Accepted as a 2016 Fellow for the New Leaders Council, Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—January 11, 2015— GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced today that Ryan D. Alward, P.G., C.Hg., a Senior Hydrologist in their Sacramento office, was recently accepted as a 2016 Fellow for the New Leaders Council (NLC), Sacramento Chapter. The NLC is an organization that works to recruit, train and promote the progressive entrepreneurs of tomorrow — trendsetters, elected officials and civically-engaged leaders in business and industry who will shape the future landscape.

NLC’s 2016 Class, which consists of around 800 Fellows, starts in January 2016. The organization is very selective, and the training focuses on soft skills for business leadership, entrepreneurship, non-profit organization development and political leadership. The NLC has trained over 2,000 young leaders since 2006, and has chapters in 40 communities across the nation.

Mr. Alward is a California Professional Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist who specializes in groundwater well design, well construction and well rehabilitation. He has overseen the construction of multiple water supply wells and municipal well rehabilitations, and has assisted his clients on projects from the grant writing/proposal phase through the design, construction oversight and regulatory compliance for groundwater supply, groundwater substitution transfers and groundwater banking and storage projects. Mr. Alward is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, as well as a member of the Groundwater Resources Association (GRA) of California, an organization dedicated to resource management that protects and improves groundwater supply and quality through education and technical leadership. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology at California State University, Chico in 2004.
