Geotechnical engineer Nick Izzo joins GEI

Izzo brings expertise in both offshore and onshore infrastructure.

FRANKLIN, Massachusetts, June #, 2026 – Nicholas Izzo, P.E., has joined GEI Consultants as Geotechnical Project Manager. Nicholas specializes in providing offshore and onshore geotechnical engineering services for both public and private clients.

“We are excited to have Nick join our geotechnical practice in New England. He brings strong technical skills and experience, which we will leverage with our water resource, waterfront, and transportation clients,” says Laureen Beintum, P.E., Boston Branch Manager – Engineering Services, at GEI. “Nick embodies every aspect of our culture at GEI and will undoubtedly become a trusted advisor to our clients and a valuable mentor to our junior staff.”

Nick has worked on a variety of projects including offshore wind farms, federal and state flood protection infrastructure, industrial facilities, and waterfront facilities. He has unique experience managing offshore and nearshore geotechnical site exploration work, as well as experience with collecting and interpreting data for subsurface cables for electricity distribution. He also brings extensive expertise in soft soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering in soft soil areas.

Nick holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The College of New Jersey.
