Stuart Mitchell joins GEI as Branch Manager
July 27, 2026Mitchell brings cross-functional leadership and engineering experience.
KITCHENER, Ontario, July 27, 2026 – Stuart “Stu” Mitchell has joined GEI Consultants as Senior Project Manager and Branch Manager of GEI’s Kitchener, Ontario, office. Stu is an accomplished engineering professional with more than 34 years of experience leading high-performing teams.
“We are thrilled to have Stu join us. He understands what it takes to manage a successful office and build a high-performing business,” says Chris Hamel, Senior Vice President and Regional Operations Manager at GEI Canada. “He is well connected with many clients and senior decision makers in the greater Kitchener area, and it’s great to have him as part of our growing team.”
Stu has significant experience in all aspects of municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction and commissioning. His work includes new road construction and road reconstruction, sanitary and storm sewer and watermain design, site and land development, sanitary pump stations, and trenchless technology.
In addition, Stu is known for his excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project teams.
“Continuing my professional career at GEI allows me to work on projects close to home, which provides a sense of giving back to my community,” says Stu. “It is very important to me that we ensure that municipal infrastructure is in a good state of repair. I take great pride in seeing the positive impacts that our work has on our communities.”
Stu holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
