Troy Naperala joins GEI as Vice President, Water Resources
November 28, 2022Industry expert specializes in executing complex water projects.
BOSTON, Mass. (November 28, 2022) – Troy Naperala has joined GEI Consultants as Vice President, Water Resources. Troy brings more than 20 years of experience in ecosystem restoration, dam design, dam removals, green infrastructure, and stormwater management. He specializes in bringing together teams of multi-disciplinary experts to execute complex water projects to effectively address client’s business needs.

Throughout his career, Troy has held a variety of technical, business development, and management responsibilities within the engineering consulting industry. His experience includes leading water resources business development for the Midwest and Central U.S. Troy has also led teams of up to 500 people to execute technical programs in the dams, mining, hydrology and hydraulics, coastal, and ecosystem restoration markets for the industrial, municipal, state, and federal sectors.
“I’m excited to collaborate with leaders across GEI to help win larger, more technically challenging, more iconic water projects that will utilize our entire team of water experts,” says Troy. “Working in technical fields, sometimes there’s a desire to be an expert in all things. But my strength comes from bringing together the right people, to leverage their passion and their multiple skill sets to execute a complex project. That’s what our clients want to see, and that’s my vision.”
Based in Michigan, Troy earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering at Michigan Technological University. He completed his Master of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Virginia. In addition to his technical work, Troy is an avid outdoor enthusiast, with a passion for hiking, biking, snowboarding, and skiing.
