United States Society on Dams Honors GEI Consultants with two Awards

Awards recognize project achievement and individual excellence

Seattle, WA (April 25, 2024) – GEI Consultants received two awards from the United States Society on Dams (USSD) at the organization’s annual conference on April 24.

USSD recognized GEI and its project partners with the 2024 Excellence in Constructed Project award for Tuolumne Log Pond Dam Spillway Upgrade. The award honors a team making significant contributions through the construction, remediation, or removal of a dam or water resource structure.

One part of the success of the Tuolumne Log Pond Dam Spillway project is the strong partnership between GEI’s client, the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians, GEI, and all the project partners who worked to rehabilitate this critical water resource. The Excellence in Constructed Project award also recognizes a water resource project making a significant contribution toward meet the challenges of the nation’s aging infrastructure in an era of limited financial resources and increasing environmental awareness.

GEI Geotechnical Engineer Chris Krage was named USSD’s 2024 Exceptional Young Professional of the Year. This award recognizes an individual age 35 or under who, through both their career and community involvement, exemplify USSD’s four mission goals: advocate, educate, collaborate, and cultivate. An integral member of GEI’s West Region team, Chris works on projects throughout California and across the country. He specializes in geotechnical and seismic analysis for the evaluations and design of new and rehabilitated dams and other engineering structures.
