Emerging Contaminants Groundwater Evaluation

GEI was engaged to prepare and implement a series of work plans to investigate PFAS and 1,4-dioxane contamination in groundwater at three facilities operated by a western New York utility company.

This project included conducting detailed assessments at multiple wells per location, including background locations relative to the sites.  Work plans addressed the stringent equipment, personal hygiene, and analytical method selections to minimize potential cross-contamination and meet reporting requirements specified by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC).

Resulting data were also compared to benchmark levels to evaluate potential site-related groundwater impacts associated with these “emerging contaminants”.
