GEI provided Coal Combustion Residual (CCR) permitting assistance, closure design, and daily on-site management of CCR ash pond and landfill closure.

GEI managed CCR permitting and coal ash management for work at a confidential utility located near Savannah, Georgia. GEI was instrumental in preparing major permit modifications for three regulated units, with a large team of in-house CCR and landfill specialists. The major permit modifications were delivered on time and under budget. This plant received the first permit for the client out of 29 permit applications in the state of Georgia. Under this contract, GEI also managed the annual groundwater monitoring, erosion control planning, coal pile closure, and ash pond and landfill closure at the power plant. The daily 3^rd party quality assurance oversight performed by GEI encompassed several field staff over close to 2-years during the ash pond and landfill closure.
