Senior Quality Assurance | Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer

Kevin Smith is a Senior QA/QC Engineer with more than 20 years of experience supporting the development and maintenance of complex engineering software for water resources planning and flood risk management. He specializes in software quality assurance, test planning, and execution across both Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles.

Prior to joining GEI, Kevin worked at Resource Management Associates, where he served as a lead QA/QC resource for numerous U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center applications, including CWMS-CAVI, HEC-WAT, HEC-SSP, and HEC-ResSim. His work includes developing comprehensive test scenarios, executing regression and release testing, documenting verification results, and coordinating closely with software developers to resolve issues.

Kevin has played a key role in establishing and managing structured test case management systems to improve consistency and traceability across software releases. Kevin has actively coordinated the incorporation of fixes into project builds by verifying issue resolutions, collaborating with developers and modelers, and ensuring that validated changes were included in scheduled build releases. He is known for his thorough approach to testing and his ability to support reliable delivery of mission-critical applications.
