Michael Boiardi
Senior Project Manager, Flood Risk Management, and Risk Informed DesignMichael is a Senior Project Manager who brings nearly two decades of experience in civil works and geotechnical engineering, with specialized expertise in risk-informed design, dam and levee safety, and interagency collaboration.
Prior to joining GEI, Michael led interdisciplinary teams at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), where he played a central role in advancing risk assessment and risk-informed decision-making across major dam and levee safety initiatives. He has served as lead facilitator on dozens of risk assessments across the country, including screening level assessments, SQRA, QRA, DSMS, and NFIP program reviews. His technical leadership has supported projects involving spillway condition assessments, foundation mapping, and failure mode analysis.
Michael has helped municipal, state, and federal agencies navigate complex infrastructure and public safety decisions, emphasizing collaborative solutions rooted in practical field experience, regulatory insight, and structured risk analysis. His recent work includes efforts at Libby Dam, Rough River Dam, Wister Dam, and the Bossier Levee in Louisiana.
Michael graduated from Amherst College with a degree in Geology.
