Scott Burdick-Yahya
Water Resource SpecialistScott Burdick-Yahya is a Water Resource Specialist with experience supporting hydrodynamic, water quality, and flood risk modeling for complex water resources systems. His work spans both model development and software development, with a focus on data processing, model setup, and analysis for large-scale riverine, estuarine, and Delta environments.
Prior to joining GEI, Scott worked at Resource Management Associates, where he supported advanced modeling efforts for federal, state, and academic clients. He has extensive experience developing and applying two- and three-dimensional models using tools such as UnTRIM, RMASim, and HEC-RAS, as well as generating and refining computational grids and bathymetric datasets.
Scott regularly develops Python scripts to automate data processing, post-processing, and reporting workflows, improving efficiency and reproducibility across modeling efforts. His project experience includes dam breach analysis, tidal restoration studies, habitat and food-web investigations, and water quality and temperature modeling throughout California’s major river and estuarine systems.
