Shannon Larson

Senior Software Engineer

Shannon Larson is a Senior Software Engineer with more than 25 years of experience leading the development, deployment, and support of large-scale water management and forecasting software. She specializes in reservoir operations, real-time simulation systems, and enterprise decision-support tools used by federal water agencies.

Prior to joining GEI, Shannon built much of her career at Resource Management Associates, where she managed development teams supporting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center applications, including CWMS/CAVI/HEC-RTS and HEC-ResSim. She has led implementation of major software upgrades, overseen debugging and quality assurance efforts, and managed the Authority to Operate (ATO) process for CWMS applications.

Shannon cultivated the design and implementation of reservoir simulations including water quality, water accounting, ensemble and Monte Carlo modeling, and operational reporting tools. She is also widely recognized for developing training materials, user documentation, and delivering hands-on training for agency staff nationwide.
