Stephen Andrews, Ph.D.
Senior Water Resource SpecialistStephen Andrews, Ph.D., is a Senior Water Resource Specialist with more than 20 years of experience developing, calibrating, and applying hydrodynamic and water quality models across a wide range of aquatic environments. His expertise spans one-, two-, and three-dimensional modeling of estuaries, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and floodplains, including simulation of water temperature, suspended sediment, nutrients, phytoplankton, and organic pollutants.
Prior to joining GEI, Dr. Andrews worked at Resource Management Associates, where he expanded his role to include software development and implementation for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center applications such as HEC-RAS, HEC-ResSim, and HEC-EFMSim. He has played a key role in advancing numerical solvers, water quality engines, and ecosystem modeling capabilities within these platforms. His work integrates field data analysis, model development, and applied research to support water management, restoration planning, and regulatory decision-making.
Dr. Andrews is also an active contributor to peer-reviewed scientific literature related to environmental modeling and aquatic systems.
