Sonja AtkinsDirector, Learning & Organizational Development
Sonja is part of the People & Safety team. She has over 20 years’ experience in instructional design, adult learning, leadership programs, organizational development, project management and mergers & acquisitions. She is responsible for executing organization-wide learning initiatives and manages the assessment, design, delivery and effectiveness of learning programs across the organization. These programs span a broad range of topics including career development, performance management, individual capabilities, leadership development and organizational effectiveness.
Sonja’s passion is to provide tools and resources which empower GEI employees to develop and grow. She works with people across the company to align the overall learning function and deliver an engaging employee experience which includes new hire orientation & onboarding, development of soft & technical skills, eLearning, health & safety training, mentoring and change management. Her goal is to ensure the alignment of programs and initiatives with the annual business objectives and the organizational strategic plan to maximize both individual’s and GEI’s growth.
Sonja has a B.S. in Human Development from the University of California, Davis.
