GEI Consultant Hires Rajesh Singh as Senior Practice Leader in Philadelphia

BOSTON, Mass.—December 16, 2015— GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced today Rajesh Singh has joined the firm as a Senior Practice Leader in its Philadelphia area office. Mr. Singh in an environmental engineer with over 25 years of experience in consulting, plant and corporate leadership assignments in environmental and chemical industries.

Mr. Singh is a nationally recognized leader in implementation of In-Situ Stabilization/Solidification (ISS) technology for site remediation. He has designed and implemented ISS, sediment dredging, sediment capping, in-situ chemical oxidation, in-situ chemical reduction (ISCR), ZVI injection, landfill capping, sheet pile, NAPL recovery and other remediation technologies. In addition, Mr. Singh has experience with site strategy development, feasibility study, treatability study, engineering design, specifications and construction management on industrial sites, and has developed, supervised and mentored a technical teams of engineers/geologists.

Prior to joining GEI, Mr. Singh worked for Kleinfelder Inc., where he was responsible for technical oversight for remedial strategy, design and construction management on remediation projects for the firm’s Mid-Atlantic Division. He provided technical support to project managers and junior staff on design, compliance with technical requirements, projects schedule and budget. He also gained experience with Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, where he was responsible for managing $35 million closure/remediation of permitted stormwater basins with sediments impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons and metals.

Mr. Singh has been honored with several awards over his career, including the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC) Industry Recognition Award in Recognition of Outstanding Contribution as Member of ITRC Solidification/Stabilization Team in 2011 and an ACEC Engineering Excellence Award (EEA) of New Jersey, and ACEC EEA National Finalist in 2009 for his team’s ISS Sediment Basin Closure Project. He has also published many industry articles and books, and has presented his research across the United States. He was a major contributing author on the ITRC Technical/ Regulatory Guidance, “Development of Performance Specifications for Solidification/Stabilization,” as well as a Principal Investigator on paper for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) titled “Evaluation of In-Situ Solidification/ Stabilization (ISS) for Redevelopment of Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Impacted Sites”.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Allahabad in India, a Master of Science in Soil and Water Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India, and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in New Brunswick, NJ.
