GEI Consultants Announces Senior Vice President and Vice President Promotions

BOSTON, Mass.—June 10, 2016— GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced today the expansion of its leadership team with the Board of Directors’ election of a Senior Vice President and six Vice Presidents.

James Ash, P.E., LSP, Senior Vice President and Environmental Practice Leader in GEI’s Boston, MA office. Jim has 27 years of experience working with clients to solve issues involving state and federal regulatory programs, industrial facility cleanup, and remedial system design and construction. He has been with GEI for 20 years and has significantly contributed to the growth of GEI’s environmental and energy practice. Jim’s expertise includes nature and extent investigations, remediation system design and implementation, regulatory closure, public relations, and expert testimony.

Larry Rodriguez, Vice President and Water Resources Practice Leader in GEI’s Bakersfield, CA office. Larry has 26 years’ experience managing water resources, groundwater, water rights, floodplain resources, and watersheds. He brings the firm vast experience in both the public and private sectors, providing policy support and advocacy in regional and statewide planning. Larry has worked extensively with the California Department of Water Resources and the State Water Contractors on regulatory and policy issues.

Francine Dunn, Vice President and Environmental Planning Practice Leader in GEI’s Sacramento, CA office. Francine has more than 31 years of experience consulting clients, and has managed hundreds of CEQA and NEPA compliance documents for a variety of sectors. She brings GEI expertise in plan-to-completion route siting and feasibility studies, environmental compliance, permitting, and construction mitigation and monitoring for large programs. In addition to her NEPA expertise, she has managed numerous 408 NEPA compliance documents for USACE, and has managed over 8,000 miles of linear projects.

Jeff Bal, Vice President and Branch Manager in GEI’s Iron River, MI office. Jeff has more than 28 years’ experience providing and overseeing engineering services for municipal and private clients to solve issues with sanitary and stormwater collection systems; water pumping and distribution systems; municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities, and miscellaneous projects for coal and hydro power generating facilities. He has been with GEI for over five years and has been a key contributor to the growth of GEI’s Upper Michigan offices.

Paul Blindauer, Vice President and Environmental Practice Leader in GEI’s Green Bay, WI office. Paul has more than 32 years’ experience focusing on client account management and technical project work, leading a number of successful projects for legal, food, heavy manufacturing, utility, pulp and paper, municipal, state and federal clients. He has five years of experience with GEI and has played a significant role developing project staff and consulting on a variety of projects. Paul’s technical and project experience includes environmental property transfer site assessments; permitting; auditing for industrial and commercial developments; management of aboveground and underground petroleum and chemical storage tank installations; soil vapor surveys; asbestos and lead paint surveys; exploration of contaminated sites; and development of remedial systems.

Barry Raus, P.G., Vice President and Branch Manager of GEI’s Mt. Laurel, NJ office. Barry has over 18 years of experience as an environmental professional having worked on over 30+ former MGP sites designing strategies for implementing remedial investigations and remedial action construction. Barry joined GEI in 2009 and has led the growth of the Mt. Laurel office to 30 staff. Barry has a wide range of expertise including client development, staff coaching and development, financial analysis, operational management, program management, and construction contract management.

Christopher Bradley, P.E., Vice President and Environmental Practice Leader in GEI’s Raleigh, NC office. Chris has 19 years’ experience providing environmental services to a variety of clients, with a focus in the utility and railroad sectors. With more than five years’ experience at GEI, Chris has been instrumental in growing GEI’s environmental practice in the Southeast, acting as the Branch Manager. Chris specializes in environmental investigation, site characterization, remedial design, bid, procurement, oversight and management of long-term obligations, including liability cost estimating and external reporting.
