Aquatic Ecologist John Rudolph Joins GEI

CARLSBAD, California, Jan. 6, 2025 – John Rudolph has joined GEI Consultants as Senior Ecologist. John has more than 25 years of experience managing aquatic biological, ecological, and toxicological environmental programs for commercial, municipal, academic, and federal clients.

“We are very excited that John has joined the GEI team,” says Dan Wanket, Regional Manager at GEI. “He is a nationally recognized expert at assessing the health of biological communities in freshwater and marine aquatic environments. His technical expertise, experience, and relationships in Southern California provides a significant addition to our water quality practice and will allow GEI to expand our services to existing and new clients.”

John has more than 18 years of specialized experience managing complex environmental sampling programs for both public and private agencies, including stream, estuarine, lake, and ocean sampling. He has performed multiple aquatic stream bioassessment monitoring projects, and managed lake/reservoir nutrient cycling work, including harmful algal bloom (HAB) mitigation and marine estuary monitoring.

John holds a Master of Science in Marine Ecology from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Ecology from Austin College. He is a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, the California Stormwater Quality Association, the North American Benthological Society, and the Society of Freshwater Science.
