Washington, D.C. (June 5, 2024) – Ecologist Reginald “Reggie” Graves II has joined GEI Consultants. Reggie brings 20 years of permitting experience in the Chesapeake Region for government, commercial, residential, and utility projects.
“Reggie’s background, both in the regulatory and practical field application of ecological restoration, is a valuable tool for our clients as they navigate the land use process in the mid-Atlantic,” says Steve Michalanko, Senior Ecologist at GEI. “As our ecological team continues to grow, Reggie will expand our capabilities into Maryland and Virginia, which are key states in the future of renewable energy infrastructure.”
Reggie is a former wetland permit writer for the Maryland Department of the Environment. He has also worked in private consulting, particularly in the areas of stream restoration and land use permitting. Reggie’s expertise includes tidal and non-tidal wetland permitting, mitigation, and monitoring, and natural channel design.
“I was drawn to GEI for its wide range of projects as well as its positive culture shared by clients and employees alike,” says Reggie. “I hope to become a go-to natural resource manager, and I look forward to helping facilitate GEI’s expansion throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.”
Reggie holds a Master of Science in Biology from Morgan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). He is a Qualified Professional (QP) for the Maryland Forest Conservation Act (FCA) and a member of the Maryland Stream Restoration Association (MSRA).
