Fossil

We provide utility clients with services in the areas of engineering design for siting and installation of new plants, to conversions of fuel sources. We also offer plant decommissioning, water intake and seawall design and landfill ash disposal design.

Nuclear

GEI has completed dozens of projects at more than 30 nuclear power plant sites throughout the U.S. under our Nuclear Quality Assurance (QA) Program. Many of these projects draw on our expertise in complimentary practice areas including geotechnical, environmental, water resources and ecological sciences. All are significant practices at GEI and synergistic with our comprehensive knowledge of soil behavior, groundwater flow and earth science.

Oil and Gas

GEI has broad multi-sector experience with various oil and gas clients involving those within exploration and production; refining; transportation, including pipelines, gas plants, compressor stations, terminals, aviation and trucking; and marketing, including bulk plants, terminals, and underground storage tanks/above-ground storage tanks (UST/AST).

Hydropower

GEI provides a full range of services to support our clients in the hydropower industry. Our hydropower experts bring a history of providing reliable environmental, regulatory and engineering services. We have earned a national reputation for safeguarding and developing clients' hydropower assets through our work in hydropower licensing and compliance, dam safety, FERC inspections, geotechnical and dam engineering and hydraulics and hydrology.

Solar and Wind

GEI has completed a variety of single turbine, wind farm and power transmission projects including geologic, geotechnical, environmental and ecological investigations and wind turbine foundation design development and planning. We offer additional support in seismic hazard analysis and earthquake geotechnical engineering for foundation engineering for tall structures. GEI has provided engineering consulting services for over 70 solar-array projects.
