Daniela Abbott named East Region Operations Manager at GEI

Portrait of Daniela AbbottNEWPORT, Rhode Island, March 4, 2026 – GEI Consultants announced today that Daniela Abbott, PE, PMP, will be the firm’s new East Region Operations Manager (ROM). Daniela succeeds Pat King, who has held the ROM role served in this position since 2012.

Daniela is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and she brings two decades of experience in the maritime and waterfront industries. She has led technical project teams on a wide range of marine infrastructure projects, from municipal waterfront parks and marine terminals to extensive shipyard expansion and improvement projects.

“Daniela has a strong focus on excellent project delivery and integrating digital solutions into our deliverables, both critical areas of focus for GEI in 2026 and beyond,” says Dan Wanket, Senior Vice President and GEI’s Director of Operations. “Daniela will bring energy, enthusiasm, organizational skill, and a project delivery focus to her new role as ROM.”

Daniela joined GEI in 2023 and has been successfully developing and leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary waterfront projects across different regions within GEI. She has also led infrastructure assessments, maintenance and improvement planning, and operational support for marinas, port operators, and shipyards.

Daniela’s holistic project approach allows her to lead teams that emphasize the goals and priorities of clients and provide technically sound and cost-effective solutions to their operational needs.

Daniela holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute, and a MSc in Maritime Engineering Sciences from the University of Southampton (UK). She is a native of São Paulo, Brazil and resides in Portsmouth, Rhode Island with her family.
